Suffering used to be everywhere

If I want to eat a cow, I have to go through the sorrow of killing it

If I want to drink water, I have to walk to the well in sweltering heat

If I want to communicate with a faraway friend, I wait 3 weeks for their letter in response. 

Now, that suffering is hidden

In the tortured animals being raised sans freedom, murdered heartlessly so we can euphamize its flesh as ‘meat’

In the neuro-diseases caused by recycling poopwater back into our sinks

In the limp hands of Chinese workers, who just want to see the sunlight - so that I can send a peach emoji. Lol.

Utopia and Dystopia can both apply, just depends on how you zoom the binoculars.
