Assumptions, assumptions, every which way

How many opinions have I accepted as facts? 

They say Atoms move as waves

That water has only 3 forms

That the history I’ve heard

Is the history that happened. 

But what have I accepted, without having experienced myself? 

Based on the authority of the speaker

Or the certainty of their voice? 

The approval of others

Or the fact that it fit my past data? 

Most of my life is based on assumptions

Handed to me for reasons

Scrupulous or un-. 

What would life be like without all these assumptions? 

Probably nothing.
