I noticed today

That my habit of eating fast 

Easily overrides my body's fullness signals

And pushes me past my limit.

I also find myself speaking quickly at times

When I'm nervous and don't know what to say

Perhaps because I'm trying to ignore or hide one of my body's signals

From myself or others.

And I find myself wondering

If perhaps

Speed is a tool the body uses 

When it believes it has to do something

That the body doesn't actually want to do.

Look at your own life

Where do you speed up

And what signals might you miss

Or override

By speeding up?
