I want to surprise you 

With joy and with fun,

But the thing about a surprise…

It requires you not knowing me too well - 

Because if you did,

You'd see the surprise coming.

Maybe my desire to continuously surprise you

Is actually a desire to keep people from fully knowing me

To keep some parts hidden from view

While I struggle daily from not feeling seen

And accepted for all that I am.
